This is a set of Ono-ore Nakabori Shogi pieces (made by Sanno) and Suzukado's original piece bag.
The pieces are hand-carved shogi pieces made in Tendo City, Yamagata Prefecture. Although the font is slightly abbreviated, it is a typeface that is easy to use for children and beginners.
Ono-ore wood is quite hard for a domestically produced wood, and its name comes from the fact that it is hard enough to break an axe. In addition, the feel of the piece is similar to that of boxwood wood, and the wood has a good finger feel.
The color of the shogi pieces is a little darker than Siamese yellow, but as you use it, the color will become more glossy.
The bottom size of the piece bag is approximately 8cm x 8cm, and the height is approximately 9cm. This is an original Suzukado piece bag with a cute owl pattern.
