The ZAT features a brand-new, custom-designed balanced armature driver that significantly exceeds the performance of conventional balanced armature drivers. A second optimization of the 29689 driver further reduces distortion and shifts the 3kHz peak to the right, delivering a new level of mid- and high-frequency performance. The combination of a 1DD & 8BA hybrid driver system, with different drivers responsible for different frequency bands, delivers a spectacular soundstage and rich, detailed performance.
With the support of a four-layer coil, the single driver performance surpasses other regular stacked dual driver setups. The performance drop-off between 20Hz and 100Hz is less than 3dB, ensuring excellent bass depth. The drop-off between 20Hz and 200Hz is around 8dB, making the bass response clear, bouncy and highly impactful.
Traditional tuning techniques typically only allow for control of the entire frequency range, often resulting in imbalances between bass, midrange, and treble frequencies. KZ's new acquired electronic tuning technology breaks away from tradition by allowing precise control of the entire frequency spectrum. This precise electronic tuning technology reduces the sensitivity drop to approximately 3dB between 20-100Hz, resulting in deep, solid sub-bass frequencies. At the same time, it keeps the sensitivity drop to approximately 7dB between 20-200Hz, providing adequate punch in the low range. Ultimately, this results in superior sound quality and provides excellent sound reproduction.
Traditional damping nets adjust the sound by changing the density of the damping net inside the acoustic tube. To achieve different sounds, different damping nets must be replaced, and they do not provide precise control over tuning. In contrast, electronic filters are frequency-selective devices that adjust specific frequency ranges, allowing for precise tuning of specific frequency ranges.
The precise three-way crossover, multi-channel acoustic design, and smooth, natural three-way crossover deliver a more professional listening experience. To construct the ZAT's three independent acoustic channels, high-precision resin 3D printing technology is used, achieving a complex internal structure that would be difficult to achieve with traditional molding processes. Through multiple meticulous processes, including polishing and finishing, the unique metallic texture is revealed, providing a smoother, more refined feel. The ZAT includes an audiophile-grade silver-plated flat cable, which helps reduce signal loss and ensure high-fidelity audio delivery. The exterior of the cable is coated with a skin-friendly elastic coating to prevent tangling and stretching.
