The first-ever SMT (Super Metal Top) model in HL rod history was developed to realize the desire to comfortably use lighter lures. By incorporating a smaller-diameter Torzite ring guide at the tip than the AGS, the SMT tip, which is heavier than tubular rods, is lighter, further improving the SMT's excellent visual and tactile sensitivity. Not only does it maintain sensitivity, but it also utilizes the rod tip's linear repulsion when casting 1g jighead rigs, resulting in a faster tip swing speed, a more comfortable casting feel, and more delicate control.
