■Dickies
Dickies started as a small overalls company in Texas, USA. The reason why it has grown into a major brand loved all over the world is due to its commitment to thorough functionality that has continued since the company's founding.
C.N. Williamson and E.E. Dickey. Dickies' co-founders, cousins, began producing workwear in the 1920s. The whole country was in the midst of a frenzy to realize the American Dream. The two men traveled to "work sites" all over the United States, researching the characteristics of each job, such as farming and mining, and created clothing for workers. Their products, which were designed to meet the needs of workers, quickly penetrated deep throughout the United States. During World War II, Dickies produced millions of uniforms at the request of the government. During that time, their commitment to craftsmanship never faded, and in the 1950s after the war, they created the "874" work pants for local Texas oil workers, which are still the most beloved work pants in the world. These pants, which are durable, stain-resistant, and fit people of all body types... they truly embody the spirit of Dickies, and became an explosive hit. They spread to work sites all over the world. This attitude of listening to the voices of workers has continued to this day and is the foundation of Dickies' policy, "FIT YOU, FIT YOUR JOB."
In the 90s, street culture boomed across the US. The 874, which was popular among skaters on the West Coast for its durability and affordability, spread to artists in various fields. Its popularity spread to the cultural scenes in Japan and around the world, and Dickies eventually established itself as a casual fashion brand. Currently, Dickies brand products are sold in over 110 countries around the world, including Europe, Asia, South America, and Africa.
