It has the unique texture of lacquer, and although it normally appears black, when light hits it it takes on a bluish hue with a deep purple coating, jet black rimming, and an accent of red flute wrapping to add color.
The three-dimensional joints are lined in a bamboo base color, reminiscent of the design of Japanese fishing rods, where the joints are ground down to reveal some of the bamboo. This original design accentuates the joints in a fully painted design that tends to be monotonous.
