[About precious coral] Generally, what is processed into gemstones and called coral is the polished bony shaft created by a living creature called coral.
Corals are in the same family as jellyfish and sea anemones, and are divided into the subclasses Hexacorallia and Octocorallia based on the number of tentacles on the polyps. There are two types of hexacorallia and octocorals: hard corals, which have a solid axis, and soft corals, which do not have a solid axis. The axis of hexacorallia is brittle, so octocorals are used as gemstones, but most are soft corals, which do not have a solid axis, and only some types of these are processed into gemstones.
[Care instructions] The main component of coral is calcium carbonate, which is weak against acidic substances and will gradually lose its luster if sweat or other substances are left on it. After use, wipe it with a soft cloth. Coral is a gemstone that requires a lot of care, but you will grow to love it, so please love it as if it were your own child. [About Sansui Precious Coral]
