Content introduction
New best album commemorating John Lennon's 80th birthday
New remix from original multi-track
Sean Lennon joins the project for the first time
John Lennon's most important and beloved solo songs have been remixed and released as a new collection!
Yoko Ono serves as executive producer and Sean Lennon produces the 36 songs in this collection.
This is a remix of the selected songs from scratch. Mixing and engineering was done by multiple Grammy Award winner Paul Hicks.
The song has been newly transferred and remixed from the original multi-track, and has been cleaned up to the highest sound quality.
The album title ``Gimme Some Truth.'' is a song released in 1971 that harshly criticizes the deceit of politicians, hypocrisy, war, etc.
The name comes from the phrase "I want the truth," and the content is very relevant even in today's era, where fake news is overflowing and we don't know what the truth is.
The photo on the album jacket is a black and white profile photo taken on the day John returned his MBE medal, which is rare for him.
Album jackets, CD and LP booklets, and text artwork by David Bowie, including album covers for Heathen, Reality, and The Next Day, as well as Bowie's Blackstar. Jonathan Barnbrook, who won a Grammy Award for the packaging, was in charge of the package.
``Gimme Some Truth.'' traces John Lennon's post-Beatles career, including ``John's Soul'' (1970), ``Imagine'' (1971), and ``Sometime in New York City'' ( 1972), “Mind Games (Nutopia Manifesto)” (197 3 years), ``Walls of Hearts, Bridges of Love'' (1974), ``Rock and Roll'' (1975), ``Double Fantasy'' (1980), and the posthumous ``Bridge of Love'' (1984). The selection covers all of his famous solo albums, including ``Milk and Honey''.
