A classic, modern audio player: Cassette tapes were all the rage in the 1980s and 1990s, and along with them, cassette players became popular with many generations. However, with the supply chain for cassette player components now virtually nonexistent, the development of the CP13 faced significant challenges in the early stages, and the project was on the brink of being discontinued. However, after a long period of steady development, the CP13 has finally been released. While reliving music nostalgia in a classic style, the CP13 is always exploring new ways to enjoy music, allowing you to once again enjoy the familiar, comfortable pure analog sound.
Extra-large pure copper flywheel achieves extremely low levels of wow and flutter: The CP13 uses an extra-large pure copper flywheel, measuring 30.4 mm in diameter and 4 mm thick. This flywheel is made of high-quality copper and has a larger diameter than those found in typical cassette players. This ensures smooth tape reel movement during playback, keeping wow and flutter, which indicates rotational irregularities, to an extremely low level, resulting in more stable, high-quality sound.
High-Voltage Motor for Stable Tape Travel: The CP13 uses a high-voltage motor powered by a 4.2V power supply, which is higher than the 1.8V or 3V used in typical cassette players. This power supply works in conjunction with a motor speed stabilization circuit, which increases the motor's resistance as needed to stabilize the operating speed.
The optimized magnetic head structure provides improved protection from external interference and wear resistance. Balanced circuit design achieves high S/N ratio and low distortion: Uncompromising component selection ensures only the highest quality heads are used. Furthermore, strict control over the CP13's manufacturing process minimizes the difference between the left and right channels of the magnetic head that reads the tape, far less than that of a typical cassette player. Furthermore, a thicker cover for the magnetic head improves protection from external interference and wear resistance, resulting in a longer lifespan. The head structure uses a balanced circuit design, achieving more stable signal transmission, a high S/N ratio, and low distortion.
Pure analog sound quality achieved through fully analog circuitry: The CP13's audio circuitry is entirely analog, from the magnetic tape heads to the signal amplification, delivering classic analog sound quality.
Equipped with the JRC5532 operational amplifier, the CP13 reproduces a pleasant analog sound. The JRC5532, known as the "king of operational amplifiers," is used in the CP13. By incorporating this operational amplifier into a fully analog audio circuit, you will be able to enjoy a familiar and pleasant sound that will leave a lasting impression.
Retro-inspired aluminum alloy double-tone case: The CP13 features a meticulously crafted, all-aluminum alloy double-tone case. Its screwless construction perfectly complements the angular yet rounded design, creating a harmonious aesthetic and ergonomics. The aluminum alloy volume knob also houses a large analog volume potentiometer. Compared to the flat potentiometers found on typical cassette players, this not only provides more reliable and consistent sound adjustment, but also improves user experience.
13-Hour Battery Life and Dual-Mode Power Supply for Longer Playback: The CP13 boasts a long battery life thanks to its 1800mAh lithium battery. It provides longer-than-normal power, delivering 13 hours of battery life and 268 days of standby time. Furthermore, its dual-mode power supply allows charging via the USB Type-C port when connected to a 5V power adapter. FIIO's safe charging circuit design allows you to use the CP13 while charging, ensuring uninterrupted, high-quality sound.
Compact design with a focus on size: FIIO was determined to make the CP13 as compact as possible, achieving a slim and compact design at just 31.8mm thick.
